Stuart Haller Brown
Mr. Stuart Haller Brown, 66, of
North Wildwood, New Jersey, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at
the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Born in Louisville, KY, on
February 5, 1942, he was a son of Alida Haller Brown of
Frederick,MD and the late Herbert Earle Brown. Stuart was the
adored grandson of the late Stuart and Ruth Haller, of
Frederick, and spent much of his early childhood with them.
Stuart proudly served his country
in the US Navy during the Vietnam War as a medical corpsman
aboard the USS Sanctuary.
He graduated from New Canaan High
School in 1960, and received his BA degree in Counseling
Psychology from the University of Mass at Amherst in 1969, and
his masters in Psychology from Boston University in 1972. From
1972 to 1974 he was a staff Psychologist in the Upward Bound
Program in Boston, MA, and worked in numerous counseling
programs for youths, adolescents and Vietnam Veterans. He was
owner and operator of ALL Season's Travel, working with senior
citizens in Brookline, MA. From 1992 until his retirement in
2007 he was supervisor of the Children's Partial Care Unit of
Cape Counseling, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
Stuart was an avid traveler,
loved Ireland and it's music, the ocean, and was an ardent
Boston sports enthusiast. He loved helping and being with
children.
Surviving in addition to his
mother are two sisters, Caroline S. Linn and husband Steven, of
Maple Shade, NJ and Elizabeth H. Brown and Randy Wixom, of
Frederick, and nieces, Allison Caesar and Sara Kim, both of
Calif., and many cousins, his aunt and uncle, Madge and John
Gehling, of MI, and leaves close friends, Sean and Chrissy
McMullan and their daughter Caitlin of Cape May Court House,
NJ. He will also be remembered by many special close friends
from Ireland.
He was preceded in death by his
brother, Keith E. Brown, who died in 2007.
Funeral services will be held on
Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 11 a.m., from the graveside in the
Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD. The Rev. Thomas S. Rogers
III, assistant rector of All Saints Episcopal Church, will
officiate. Those wishing to attend should assemble within the
main gate of the cemetery by 10:45 AM.
