Robert F. Gilman


Robert F. Gilman, 85 died Sunday at his home in Lower Gwynedd. 

Born in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Lester and Mary (nee McLaughlin) Gilman. 

He served in the Army from 2-6-1943 to 3-6-1946 in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater. He was a graduate of Penn State University.

He was a self employed Mechanical Engineer and consultant, and practiced as R. F. Gilman Associates

Mr. Gilman was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Maple Glen, Father Joseph P. Keeney Council # 8530 of the Knights of Columbus in Horsham

He is survived by his Wife Joan R. (nee Fitzgibbon) Gilman and his children Joann Jugler of Elkins Park, PA, Robert F. (Mary Ellen) Gilman of Ambler, PA, Mark E. (Mary Ann) Gilman of Plymouth Meeting, PA, Gregory J. (Donna) Gilman of Blue Bell, PA, Mary Beth (Harry) Breucker of Hatfield, PA, Regina M. (Roger) Frederick of Lansdale, PA and Dolores A. (Robert Winter) Gilman of Ambler, PA. Also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his sisters Marie Krehbiel and Patricia Dzedzej both of Ft. Myers, FL. 

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Church Conwell Drive, Maple Glen with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM with the Most Reverend Robert P. Maginnis as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
