Marie S. McCormick “Mitzi” (nee Mendenhall) age 86, of Penllyn formerly of Fort Washington, PA died on January 7, 2010.

She was the beloved wife of the late Frank S. McCormick and the  daughter of the late Howard “Whitey” and Dorothy Mendenhall.

She is survived by a son, Todd and his wife, Coleen of Penllyn. She was the loving grandmother of Shawn and Shannon McCormick of Schwenksville.

For years Mitzi worked with her husband in his plumbing and heating business. She delivered Meals on Wheels in Ambler and was secretary to the auxiliary of the Ambler YMCA. She also served as past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fort Washington Fire Co. Mitzi was a member of the Montgomery County SPCA, Philadelphia Zoo, Humane Society, Alley Cats and Allied and Best Friends Animal Society. She was a champion of all animal causes.
