James F. Smart, 73 of Ambler died Tuesday, March 1, 2010 at Rittenhouse Pine Center in Norristown. 

Born in Fort Washington, PA, he was the son of the late John and Mary (nee McMonagle) Smart.  Mr. Smart was preceded in death by his wife Mary Margaret (nee Bainbridge) Smart in 1996 and his son Robert G. Smart in 2003.   

Mr. Smart was a Plumber, employed by Anthony Senese Plumbing in Springhouse prior to his retirement in 1985.  

Mr. Smart was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church where he served as a leader of the Boy Scout Troop # 164. He also volunteered for the Ambler Olympic Club.  

He was the devoted father of Karen Schwemmer and her husband Bob of Ambler, James F. Smart and wife Susan of Allentown and his daughter-in-law Nina Smart.  He was the loving grandfather of Amanda, Jimmie, Matthew, Eric and Kimberly. He is also survived by a brother William Smart of NJ.                                                                      

Relatives and friends are invited to call after 9:30 AM on Friday, March 5, 2010 at St. Anthony of Padua Church 259 Forest Ave. Ambler. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private.
